Session Description

Get out of your head and into the moment in this playful, high-energy Physical Comedy & Character Building Workshop! Through movement, imagination, and collaborative games, students will explore how physicality can unlock creativity, confidence, and deeper connection, both onstage and in everyday life. In this 90-min workshop, students will learn how to create expressive characters using posture, movement, facial expression, and voice while discovering how to tell stories with little to no dialogue. By focusing less on “being funny” and more on listening, reacting, and staying present, kids strengthen many of the same social-emotional skills that sit at the heart of great improv: empathy, adaptability, self-awareness, collaboration, and confidence. Physical comedy encourages students to take creative risks, trust their instincts, and communicate in new ways beyond words. As they build imaginative worlds and larger-than-life characters together, students learn to observe more closely, support their scene partners, and become more comfortable expressing themselves authentically. Whether your child is a seasoned improviser or brand new to comedy, this workshop offers a joyful, low-pressure environment full of movement, laughter, creativity, and connection.
